Fantasy Land

One morning I woke up around 10:30am, I think. I was chilly and my bed was unusually hard. Realizing that it was still dark outside, I got up and looked around when all of a sudden, I noticed I was in a different land! Everything looked very different as the sun had begun to rise. No matter where I looked everything looked like cartoons. Out of the corner of my eye I saw coming towards me the biggest green dragon that I could ever imagine. Oh dear, I started to panic as the giant green dragon came closer and closer.

He stood like a giant green blob sniffing a yellow daisy and talking to himself. He came up to me and started talking, as a round red truck with a huge face and large eyes rolled past us.

The dragon did not seem to notice this strange truck, but continued to look at the yellow daisy so I asked him, “Where am I and why am I here?” It was clear that I was very puzzled.

He looked up from the daisy and putting one scaly paw on his hip, replied, “You are in Fantasy Land, but I do not know why you are here,” he replied as he continued to sniff the yellow daisy.

Watching cats with dogs’ feet walk around, barking and meowing at the same time, I said, “Well, how can I get home? It’s not very fun here!”
The giant green dragon responded, “Welllll…” he said in a slow tone, and looking around as though he could not understand my problem, he answered, “why don’t you just go back to sleep again and you just might wake up back at home.”

I looked down and kicked a rock, which jumped up and kicked me right back! Not knowing what else to do, I asked, “Are you sure?”

“Wellll, of course I’m not sure, but anything here in the land of true fantasy is possible.” He turned and disappeared right in front of my eyes.

I looked around and spotted a tall tree with a blueberry bush beside it. I walked over and laid down beneath it. Just as I was getting comfortable the tree pulled up its roots, snatched up the blueberry bush and ran away with it. I stretched out on the open ground and fell asleep. I woke up on my bedroom floor, where I had been watching cartoons on my television, wiped my sweaty forehead and sighed with relief. Home again and no more green dragons, crazy trucks, or rocks to kick me around anymore, except that there was a yellow daisy lying on my lap! I guess anything is possible in Fantasy Land.

THE END
